New Horse Watercolor Art Lesson!
Artist Jenna Leigh Ashbaugh shares, “In this tutorial, we will paint a realistic horse portrait in watercolor, beginning with a simple pencil drawing. I’ve included a traceable drawing if you would like to make that step easier. We will use a few different blending techniques to create layers, add depth, and portray light and shadow. These techniques could also be applied to other media, so if you prefer a different one such as colored pencil, acrylic paint, or pastels, don’t hesitate to try it out with this tutorial!”
Jenna Leigh is a homeschool graduate and studied art at Liberty University. She is currently working, living, and running her small art business in Central VA. Her favorite medium is watercolor, and she loves to paint portraits and animals. You can find her work on her website, on Instagram (@jennaleighdesignco), or on Etsy.
